Big Data Administrator

Big Data Administrator will be a member of our growing Big Data team in Athens, responsible to design and implement automated functional systems that improve customer experience.

The Big Data Administrator will work with our technical leadership, Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to deliver, operate and improve the full stack of our technology products.

Technical skills are important, but a willingness to take the initiative to research and suggest new ideas is critical.

Responsibilities

• Apply your experience on Hadoop clusters (Cloudera CDH/CDP). Person will be responsible to Perform Big Data Platform Administration and Engineering activities on multiple Hadoop, Kafka, Hbase and Spark clusters
• Monitor health of the platforms and Generate Performance Reports and Monitor and provide continuous improvements.
• Analyze system logs, application logs, audits and identify performance issues and suggest fixes for the same
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
• Provide Level 2 technical support

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or Software Engineering
• At least two years of working experience on Cloudera Hadoop Stack (CDH or CDP)
• Experience in administration, tuning and scaling of Hadoop clusters
• Experience in maintaining, optimization, issue resolution of Big Data large scale cluster
• Experience with Cloud-based infrastructures, automation tools (SaltStack, ansible, terraform), ELK Stack, CI/CD tools, at least one scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, and Agile workflow methodologies
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
• Background in management of Linux based infrastructure
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• MSc in one of the above fields will be considered an asset
• Knowledge of Java/JVM based languages is a strong asset
