We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Data Analyst with broad technical skills to develop data visualizations and build automation that drives business decisions and process improvement. The Business Data Analyst will own strategic, tactical, cross-functional technology projects within Amazon Logistics Loss Prevention. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process/product changes.

The complexity of research and skills for a Business Data Analyst is well beyond basic data entry and extraction. It involves identification and design of data pipelines, sophisticated analytical modeling, and intuitive data visualization. This role will directly maintain front-end code using Python, SQL, HTML, Java, and R, or other similar coding languages. This role has high-level visibility and a broad scope with exposure across operational, support, and technical business units.

Key Responsibilities Include:
· Data extraction, manipulation and production from database tables (Data Warehouse)
· Develop and implement KPIs based on the business needs
· Design and implementation of analytical models using statistical analysis
· Automation and tool development using various programming languages
· Development of data visualization using commercial suites
· Support risk reporting, audit and analyze risk metrics and advise on risk mitigation strategies and control mechanisms to prevent operational risks that negatively affect our internal, external partners, and customers.
· Independently manage projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications


· BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related fields and 5+ years of industry experience in an analytical role
· 3+ years of experience with SQL, Python, JavaScript, HTML, R or other similar coding languages
· 3+ years of experience with statistical modeling and visualization
· Prior experience with data visualization tools and techniques

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in a business data analysis or statistical analysis role
· Proven problem-solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
· Prior experience in analytical modeling
· Proficiency in at least one programming language
· Advanced working knowledge of data mining using ETL, data warehouse and Excel
· Experience in developing requirements and forming business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools

· Advanced analytical, problem-solving skills, and passion for delivering business insights and analytics

· Executive level written and oral communication skills
