We are hiring for a brand new hybrid pre-sales engineering and sales role. Responsible for vetting and identifying new data science opportunities, ensuring that appropriate software components are positioned, ensuring appropriate sizing, and providing specialized data science expertise to assisting pre-sales engineers. Will work closely with product management to provide field-based product input, develop training for SDRs, AEs, and pre-sales engineers to better evaluate data science opportunities and speak to this new audience. Looking for candidates with at least several years of data science experience in an enterprise setting (i.e. Fortune 500 companies, preferably in FinServ, Government, or Healthcare) and substantial exposure to commercial software sales (either assessments for their employers or preferably at a commercial software vendor). Pre-sales experience is a plus but not required. Examples of specific activities expected include proactively identifying GDS opportunities (e.g. through keyword-based alerts & reports in Salesforce) and reaching out to individual reps to help with deals; assisting reps in screening and identifying data science deals and defining PoC criteria; keeping Sales Management and PM apprised of overall GDS status by territory & market segment; helping Sales craft proposals that meet end customer objectives; training sales

Responsibilities:
- Develop and continually refine deep Neo4j product knowledge, especially with respect to data science
- Continually refine data science ecosystem knowledge and how enterprises approach and address data science solutions
- Provide informational Neo4j data science presentations and live software demonstrations
- Participate in functional and technical discovery sessions
- Lead whiteboarding sessions and/or work independently to map requirements to valid use cases that are addressed by Neo4j data science capabilities
- Craft proposed Neo4j data science solution architectures that address customer requirements and fit appropriately into their technology environment
- Develop Neo4j data science demos and prototypes that showcase support for customer requirement
- Address competitive differentiation and technical objection-handling as needed
- Facilitate solution knowledge transfer to Neo4j Sales Engineers, Consulting, and industry partner
- Support local marketing events and participate actively in the Neo4j Community
Experience:
- Data science experience in an enterprise setting
- Experience with or exposure to commercial software sales, either assessments for their employer, or preferably at a commercial software vendor.
- Graph database experience a plus, e.g. Neo4j, OrientDB, TitanDB/JanusGraph
- Knowledgable with relational or NoSQL database, Big Data, Analytics and Integration technologies and architectures
- Knowledgeable with the data science marketplace and associated tooling
- Comfortable and quick with learning new technologies as needed
- Client-facing experience
- Consultative skills including data requirements gathering and data modeling, white boarding and developing/validating proposed solution architectures
- Presentations and software demonstrations for audiences including technical and line-of-business decision makers
- Delivery of informal or other product education to prospective users or project teams
- Soft skills including effective communication, listening and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, sales-focused environment
- Industry vertical experience, e.g. Financial Services, Retail, Government, Security or Telecommunication
- Proficient written and spoken English communication skills
