Big Data System Engineer

Within this framework, we are looking for an agile and highly-motivated “Big Data System Engineer” to join a team of future shapers.

Responsibilities

• Build independent web based tools, microservices and solutions and write scripts and automation using Python/Java/Bash/SaltStack
• Configure and manage data sources like MySQL, Mongo, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, etc
• Manage source control including SVN and GIT
• Implement integrations requested by customers
• Deploy updates and fixes
• Utilize various open source technologies
• Use a variety of tools to orchestrate solutions
• Provide Level 2 technical support
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or Software Engineering
• Experience with Cloud-based infrastructures, automation tools (SaltStack, ansible, terraform), ELK Stack, CI/CD tools, at least one scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, and Agile workflow methodologies
• Background in management of Linux based infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with databases including MySQL, Mongo
• Knowledge of application load balancing and Network/Application Security
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Excellent use and command of English language

Nice to Have

• MSc in one of the above fields will be considered an asset
• Experience in fluid virtual infrastructures such as OpenStack and containers (e.g Dockers, Kubernetes) is a plus
• Knowledge of Java/JVM based languages is a strong asset
