Experienced Data Engineer - Creator Studio

Spotify is reimagining the creator and consumer experience, partnering with artists, labels and publishers to help them better understand and reach their fans. Along with developing Spotify-native promotional tools, we're working with our broader organization to create sustainable commercial models to help artists thrive. 
We are looking for experienced Data Engineers to join us in the Creator Studio team building artist-facing tools to support our core promotional products. Artist marketing teams want to deliver their artists' music into the ears of existing and potential fans. We build the tools enabling them to create, monitor, analyze and report on promotional campaigns. We also capture valuable insights to help continually improve our products.

What You'll Do

• Build large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks like Scio, Storm, Spark and the Google Cloud Platform.
• Work with Product to conceptualize and implement new ways of understanding the interplay between user satisfaction, track performance and artist needs.
• Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery.
• Help drive optimization, testing and tooling to improve data quality.
• Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, experts and stakeholders, taking learning and leadership opportunities that will arise every single day.
• Work in cross functional agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new product objectives.

Who You Are

• You have at least 3+ years of professional experience working in a product-driven environment.
• You know how to work with high volume heterogeneous data, preferably with distributed systems such as Hadoop, BigTable, and Cassandra.
• You know how to write distributed data pipelines in Java or Scala.
• You are knowledgeable about data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.
• You care about agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation.
• You understand the value of collaboration within teams.
• You care about making your team the best version of itself through mentorship and constructive accountability.
