Data Scientist

Job Description: 

Novetta is seeking a candidate who is interested in developing application capabilities for an enterprise data and business intelligence platform that leverages cloud technologies, combining many data sources into a data lake, providing analytics, and business intelligence capabilities. The data scientist will be responsible for analyzing large data sets, building analytic output, and the full lifecycle of machine learning model development.

Responsibilities include:

• Leverage Amazon Web Services and Databricks to deliver rich data analytics and machine learning models 
• Work with technologies such as Databricks, Spark, and Kubernetes
• Implement, configure and test machine learning and deep learning libraries and platforms (e.g. fast.ai, TensorFlow, Keras, XGBoost, LightGBM).

Basic Qualifications:

• Academic degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, etc.);
• 6+ years experience working in statistics, data analytics, data engineering, or related fields
• 4+ years experience working with python
• Delivering analytic insights from data (BI reporting, analytical data sets, machine learning models, etc.)
• Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders

Desired Skills:

• Data and model exploration with a keen eye for how to apply machine learning to a problem
• Leveraging Databricks Delta Lake for data storage and querying
• Experience leveraging MLFlow or other machine learning automation tools
• Experience with data streaming technologies (Kinesis, Kafka)
• Experience building BI reports and dashboards
• Experience with BI tools like Tableau

Security Clearance:

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance
