Coupa Software is looking for an experienced Data engineer to join our amazing team and be part of our next-gen supply chain cloud platform. As a Data engineer, you will work as part of the Data Foundation team and interact closely with other data engineers & DBRE’s, Software Development, Architecture, DevOps, and Platform Success to build out our next-gen data architecture for our cloud platform in AWS and Azure. You will be directly involved in the execution of tactical and strategic data-related projects, resolution of production issues, and the implementation, support and maintenance of the overall data infrastructure and data services. You will have the opportunity to learn, grow and prosper with the team along with maintaining the work-life balance and highest work ethics.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold or exceed uptime SLAs, service quality for data infrastructure 
  • Perform database server provisioning, database administration, maintenance, performance monitoring and SQL tuning activities, and disaster recovery planning, documentation and testing 
  • Work with Developers and DevOps teams to implement best practices
  • Provide off hours support, as needed, to support technical issues
  • Support data migration projects, conversions and data modeling
  • Discover automation opportunities to replace manual processes
  • Proactively identify issues & support reporting and query tools  

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, Software Engineering or related technical field
  • 3+ years of MS SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017 or 2019 experience
  • 2+ years of MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL or similar
  • Familiarity with AWS core services like EC2, RDS, S3 and related services
  • Experience with SSIS and Database Replication is a plus 
  • TSQL/PowerShell is a must
  • Technical experience working with relational databases, techniques, denormalized data structures, and ad hoc query/reporting
  • Fluent in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, C# or similar) 
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Datadog or similar 
  • Ability to work with geographically distributed teams
  • Should be able to adapt to flexible work schedule
  • Strong oral and written communication
