As our new Data Science Team Lead for this domain, you will be building your own team with 3-5 data analysts and data scientists. Bearing responsibility for their work quality and personal development, you’ll be dividing your time between people management, driving the analytics roadmap and supporting complex analyses. 

In this position, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with Directors of Business, Product and Engineering to drive the analytics roadmap and long-term strategy with quarterly milestones within the Payment Service area
  • Build, lead and coach a team of three to five data analysts and data scientists
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to your team; inspire innovative thinking in the analytics space
  • Work on finding solutions to complex analytical problems
  • Manage analytical projects spanning different teams and/or departments
  • Drive the usage of advanced analytics techniques in the company

About you:

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role (4+ years)
  • Ability to understand, translate and map strategic priorities into analytical projects
  • Outstanding communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Proven track record of team mentorship and technical leadership (2+ years)
  • Some experience in hiring team members
  • Hands-on experience with scripting in Python, R, or Scala
  • A vision for what Data Science can and should be, as well as the ability to work with internal stakeholders to execute on that vision
  • Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Econometrics, Statistics, Business, or any other related field – alternatively, an equivalent level of relevant work experience would also be acceptable
  • Experience in a (fin)tech company would be an advantage
