Team Description: Our computer vision team is a leader in the creation of cutting-edge algorithms and software for automated image and video analysis. Our solutions embrace deep learning and add measurable value to government agencies, commercial organizations, and academic institutions worldwide. We understand the difficulties in extracting, interpreting, and utilizing information across images, video, metadata, and text, and we recognize the need for robust, affordable solutions.  We seek to advance the fields of computer vision and deep learning through research and development and through collaborative projects that build on our open source software platform, such as Kitware Image and Video Exploitation and Retrieval (KWIVER) toolkit.

In This Position You Will:

  • Contribute your strong programming ability and experience to develop robust solutions for real world problems 
  • Collaborate with researchers on projects related to machine learning, artificial intelligence and computer vision. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with relevant project experience outside of an academic setting and/or a Masters degree in Computer Science or relevant subject matter
  • Highly proficient programming skills with experience using both C++ and Python specifically
  • Knowledge of software development processes/environments including but not limited to Visual Studio, gcc, clang, make, or CMake/CDash
  • Ability to develop software for Unix, Linux, MacOS and/or Windows operating systems to large open-source projects and communities 
  • Due to contractual restrictions, only candidates that are US Persons (citizens, permanent residents, asylees or refugees) will be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Github or Gitlab for code reviews, documentation, and release management.
  • Ability to learn core Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as EC2, EBS volumes, S3, and CloudWatch.
  • Ability to learn DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Vagrant, and Packer.
  • Interest and experience in open source software development.
