About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will develop some of the key components of the platform, collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, and build high-quality and scalable solutions powering the analytics platform and data pipelines. You will translate the UX designs into data requirements, propose designs and drive the solution with the data platform team. You will also create BI reports and dashboards for our customer analytics platform.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product to understand business needs and act as a liaison between product and data platform team to determine data infrastructure requirements
- Gather and process raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch and real-time data processing frameworks
- Ensure data quality and flexibility of access
- Analyze and transform data into relevant and more broadly usable aggregations
- Provide advice in the usage, visualization, and interpretation of data
- Install, maintain, monitor, and support business intelligence and data analytics tools
- Engage with Data Scientists in challenging and sometimes ambiguous projects
Requirements
- 4+ years industry experience in the field of data
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, performant data pipelines, data services, and data products
- Programming experience in building high quality software
- Experience working with AWS data technologies (Redshift, S3, EMR, Athena, Glue etc.,).
- Experience using SQL and Python
- Ability to work with noisy, dirty and unstructured data to cleanse, scrape and convert it into structured data
- Experience building reports using tools like Tableau, Looker
- Demonstrate ability to work well independently and within a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Knowledge in engineering machine learning is a plus
