The Amazon Search team creates powerful, customer-focused search and advertising solutions and technologies. Whenever a customer visits an Amazon site worldwide and types in a query or browses through product categories, our services go to work. We design, develop, and deploy high performance, fault-tolerant distributed search systems used by millions of Amazon customers every day.

Within Amazon Search, the MIDAS team is a group of researchers and engineers that develop cutting edge machine learning solutions for the next generation of shopping experience. We work backwards from the customer to create value for them by addressing an underlying, unsolved scientific and engineering problems. We deploy our solutions through distributed systems that operate at millisecond latencies at Amazon scale.

As a Machine Learning Engineer in MIDAS you will support all phases of the ML modeling cycle, from data gathering, model training and evaluating, benchmarking and troubleshooting, setting up large-scale data pipelines, deployment to production, monitoring and analysis. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers from various organizations within Amazon.

Your responsibilities include:

· Analyze the data and metrics resulting from traffic into Amazon's product search service.
· Design, build, and deploy effective and innovative ML solutions to improve various components of the search stack, such as indexing, ranking, and query autocompletion.
· Create online serving components that are capable of handling thousands requests per second with short latency.
· Create reliable ML and data pipelines that process billions of records and refresh ML models for production.
· Setup production monitoring dashboards and alerts.

Your benefits include:
· Working on a high-impact, high-visibility product, with your work improving the experience of millions of customers.
· The opportunity to use (and innovate) state-of-the-art ML methods to solve real-world problems.
· Excellent opportunities, and ample support, for career growth, development, and mentorship.
· Competitive compensation, including relocation support.
