The Open Source Strategy and Marketing (OSSM - pronounced “awesome”) team is looking for a Senior Open Source Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML) strategist to influence the AWS strategy around open source AI/ML and to act as a public-facing thought leader in the space.
Open source is the arena of disruption for AI/ML and AWS continues to make investments in this space, including key open source projects. You will work across service teams, with partners, and open source communities to identify opportunities and risks for AWS in AI/ML that will strengthen our relationships and leadership in open source. You will also represent AWS by speaking at the most prominent industry events and in smaller meetings with decision makers and developers. The ideal evangelist will possess excellent communication skills that will allow them to engage a crowd of people as well as seasoned and skeptical executives.
You’re a good fit if you:
* Are an expert in AI/ML and ravenously consume new information, advancements, and technologies
* Can design and deliver engaging presentations for a developer audience
* Have public speaking experience to large audiences
* Have a good understanding of the complexities of open source communities, their cultures, and preferred methods of engagement and promotion.
* Can effectively communicate this understanding to other stakeholders.
* Have a knowledgeable and informed opinion on the definition and use of open source in AI/ML
This position can sit in Seattle, WA (preference) or Portland, OR. Relocation to these locations only offered from within the US only.
Key job responsibilities
* Build and strengthen a network with other leaders in the open source AI/ML space
* Plan and execute appropriate speaking opportunities
* Develop messaging for open source AI/ML at AWS
* Write blog posts
* Work closely with AWS service teams, sales/business development, PR, DevRel, and marketing managers to ensure the AWS open source message is reaching a broad audience via events, seminars, webinars and other leadership activities.
* Build an effective plan to influence perception of AWS in open source AI/ML
* Lead the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, and analyses to enable effective decision making
* Write and speak persuasively to inform decision-making and influence leadership
* Prepare and deliver regular business reviews and clearly and concisely communicate engagement results
* Travel, as necessary (some karaoke required, singing is optional)
