The team
Central Data is one of 5 teams in the Data and Analytics Hub (part of the Personalised CRM domain). We provide infrastructure to other Analytics teams; mostly within but also across domains. Our domain's mission is to drive user engagement by delivering the right message to the right customer at the right time in the right channel.
Our team provides all the necessary infrastructure in Lakehouse to ensure that we’re set-up to deliver on our domain’s mission. We own and maintain most of the data pipelines that bring huge data sets into a more manageable format. The data covers all markets and products (transactional send outs, Marketing send outs, App data, Orders, Attributes on user level etc.).
We’re an enabler - our team mission is to make it easy for other Analysts to access all this data. Their use cases and purposes differ substantially; they range from Business insights (Analytics) to Customer segmentation (Marketing) and Reporting. The required data landscape that results from these differences is quite complex but it also ensures that our problem space never gets boring!
You’ll be working in a team of 5 Analysts and 1 Data Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Gathering cross-team requirements and design efficient data pipelines that solve a business problem
- Creating and maintaining jobs in Airflow that run scheduled queries while ensuring performance requirements are met
- Build data transformations and work very closely with transforming business logic
- Act as a point of contact for less technical stakeholders regarding how to best use our tables and schemas
- Collaborate with data engineers to refine pipelines, ensuring they are scalable, performant, and easily interpretable
- Be an advocate of our centralised solutions to other Analysts to drive adoption
- Write and maintain documentation on how we generate our data
You should have
- Interest in complex data structures
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with big data sets
- Ability to translate complicated queries into English
- 3+ years of work experience
- A degree from a university in a numerate subject (e.g. Economics, Science, Engineering or Business)
- Previous experience with git or Redshift is a plus
