We are looking for a creative and collaborative Data Science intern to accelerate decision science at Coursera. During this full-time 16-week internship program, you will be embedded as a full-time member of our Data Science team and paired with a mentor. You will work on real features and build internal tools that inform our decision about how best to serve our 68+ million learners worldwide!
This internship will run from August 30 - December 17. It will be fully remote, but you will need to work remotely from one of the following Canadian provinces: Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan. We will begin reviewing applications on May 24.

Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and share internal reporting for Data Scientists and Product Managers to better understand how learners are interacting with our product
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Data Scientists to identify opportunities to improve learner experiences on Coursera
- Design and analyze experiments that will evaluate new features and inform product direction
- Distill insights from complex data, communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field (recent graduates also welcome to apply)
- Experience with relational databases and SQL for data retrieval
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g. Python)
- Experience with at least one statistical software package (e.g. R, NumPy/SciPy/Pandas)
- Experience with explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience with designing clear and informative data visualizations
- Project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
