As our new Data Analyst in the Trust & Safety domain, you’ll become a member of a cross-functional Product department. Your future team will be self-sufficient, consisting of Product Owner, Designer, Engineers, Data Scientist and you (Data Analyst), to have all the skills necessary to ship new features to our members, fast. You and your team will identify user problems, evaluate opportunities, and look for new and improved solutions to help our members trade safely and successfully.
Trust & Safety domain at Vinted is focused on ensuring safety and security for the Vinted community. Three core pillars in the domain are member support (ensuring effective customer support), member safety (reducing spam, scam, pervertism on the platform) and content quality (no fake items or items that do not follow Vinted policy on the platform). Member safety and content quality are expected to be the primary focus areas for the Data Analyst in this position.
To be successful in this role you’ll need to have very strong business skills backed up with the core technical skills (ability to use dashboards, SQL querying, knowledge of statistical tests). Data Analyst is not expected to deliver predictive algorithms or know how to employ sophisticated machine learning techniques, but instead they are expected to be the business context experts and leverage their excellent business acumen to steer their team towards the initiatives with the biggest impact. 

In this position, you’ll:

  • Identify opportunities for your team to improve business metrics
  • Analyse identified opportunities to understand their scope and impact (i.e. size opportunities) 
  • Support the team with valuable data insights
  • Select the most important KPIs for the team, track and forecast their performance over time

About you:

  • Highly business-results-oriented and comfortable with iterative processes
  • Able to extract, transform and interpret data
  • Keen on collecting and sharing business insights with your team/company
  • Able to understand the context of the domain and give timely insights
  • A degree in statistics, econometrics, economics, business or a similar field
  • 2+ years of analytical / BI work experience
  • Scripting experience (e.g. SQL) and experience with dashboarding tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • A good communicator who can present results in an informative and persuasive manner
  • Excellent at communicating in written and spoken English
