Data Analyst - Internal Finance Suite at is actively looking for a talented Data Analyst whose mission will be to ensure the accuracy of the Internal Finance Suite products in a scalable manner. The Internal Finance Suite includes our greenfield automated reconciliation, financial reporting tools, and more, all leveraging large data sets from various upstream sources. This brings numerous exciting challenges when it comes to ensuring the accuracy of our products, especially given the rapid increase in transaction volume and a growing list of processing partners. You will make a significant contribution in ensuring that Internal Finance Suite products are adopted and provide continuous value to our Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing complex business requirements and processes in defining the testing strategy and success metrics for our Internal Finance Suite products in close collaboration with Finance stakeholders. You will also manage the execution of testing and handover end to end. 
  • Interrogating and reconciling large data sets from various sources in a logical manner, and understanding drivers for any differences. This will involve close collaboration with our engineers and upstream teams. 
  • Creating a long-term strategy to ensure the continued accuracy of our Internal Finance Suite products, whilst defining metrics to prove this accuracy.
  • Owning and managing SLA agreements between Finance and other stakeholders.
  • Contributing towards testability to influence application design for effective product testing, and advising on potential for automation where applicable. 
  • Make an active contribution to all Agile rituals (stand-ups, retros, planning, etc).
  • Being an advocate for data quality across the organisation.
  • Opportunity to grow into a data analytics engineering role within Checkout’s Business Intelligence team. 

About you

  • Comfortable using excel to interrogate large data sets – this is a must-have.
  • Logical thinking and excellent diagnostic skills.
  • Proficient using SQL with an understanding of databases.
  • Able to pay attention to details, but also know when to zoom out to see the bigger picture.
  • Extremely organised and methodical whilst remaining pragmatic.
  • Confident collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good experience working within a fast-paced Agile team.
  • Previous experience working with/within Finance is beneficial, but not essential.
