Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Global Data Analyst. This job reports to Director of Program Learning & Impact, Planned Parenthood Global, a part of PPFA. 


  • This position provides technical support in Program Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Research and DHIS2 within the Program Learning Team at Planned Parenthood Global. Contribute to the performance of program learning systems, especially by making data available for sound decision making and developing a culture of data use. Participate in the development of required capacities within PP Global to generate and manage data through DHIS2 and other information management systems, where applicable. Make PP Global data available to internal and external stakeholders through a variety of communication and presentation channels.


  • Data Usage:
  • Build capacity of PP Global staff (in-country and HQ) in data use, program learning, and DHIS2
  • Regularly review data to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy. Partner with other areas of the Program Learning team to make recommendations on mechanisms to maintain a high standard of data quality and usage
  • Develop and implement effective dissemination approaches for applied research findings for strengthening their use in project implementation, performance improvement, and evidence-based policy development and implementation.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization:
  • Meet regularly with internal team members to determine questions to be answered through data analysis and visualizations to inform internal decision-making for both short term and long term programs and strategy
  • Work closely with the PLT to investigate specific data questions, as needed – including data aggregation for more advanced analysis.
  • Analyze qualitative data in English, Spanish and French
  • Create data visualizations, reports, one-pagers and other internal and external facing presentations and documents (in collaboration with Communications team)
  • Assist all levels of staff with data analysis
  • DHIS2 Development, Management and Training:
  • In collaboration with the DHIS2 Lead System Administrator, manage DHIS2 on a day-to-day basis
  • Lead trainings in DHIS2 for PP Global and partner staff (both in person and virtual)
  • Track and oversee timeliness and completion of data entry
  • Develop new features, including translations into Spanish and French (e.g. indicators, dashboards, data sets) and train staff where necessary on usage
  • Maintain the large database (e.g. data cleaning, upgrading to new versions)
  • Work with Global Operations and other teams on interoperability
  • Manage, in collaboration with regional teams, the deployment of new system reporting functionality. This includes reviewing specifications, creating and executing test scenarios and providing end user training
  • Create and maintain global indicator and data dictionary
  • Provide troubleshooting support to users


  • This position will work with a variety of stakeholders and colleagues within PP Global, PPFA and our partner organizations to foster  interoperability, provide technical support, and assist in data analysis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • 4 to 6 years (with a BA) or 2 to 4 years (with an MA) of directly relevant experience with a focus on monitoring and evaluating international development programs, and in the use of measurement methods required for monitoring and evaluation of public health programs.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, judgement and evaluation skills as it relates to data and storytelling
  • Experience with data visualization and analytic dashboard development
  • Excellent time management, written and verbal communication, and follow-up skills
  • Strong understanding of database relationships
  • Ability to handle cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and evaluate and utilize resources as needed
  • An ability to work across countries, cultures, and time zones.
  • Fluency in at least French or Spanish, both preferable.
  • Experience using DHIS2 preferred


  • Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 10%)
Salary: 70K

Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program.
