About Kraken
Kraken is changing the world. Join the revolution!
Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of cryptocurrency so that you and the rest of the world can achieve financial freedom and inclusion. Founded in 2011 and with over 4 million clients, Kraken is one of the world’s largest, most successful bitcoin exchanges and we are growing faster than ever. Our range of successful products are playing an important role in the mainstream adoption of crypto assets. We attract people who constantly push themselves to think differently and chart exciting new paths in a rapidly growing industry. Kraken is a diverse group of dreamers and doers who see value in being radically transparent.
In our first decade Kraken has risen to become one of the best and most respected crypto exchanges in the world. We are changing the way the world thinks about money and finance. The crypto industry is experiencing unprecedented growth and Kraken is leading the charge. We’ve grown from 70 Krakenites in January 2017 to over 1600 today and we have no intention of slowing down.
About the Role
The Strategic Intelligence team works cross-functionally, focusing on competitive intelligence and performance benchmarking within the competitive landscape. As an Intelligence Data Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting various teams with business and industry-related questions. Successful candidates will answer these broad, sometimes ambiguous questions by utilizing a variety of data sources available to the team. Additionally, this role will serve as a data consultant, helping various stakeholders understand what is possible from a data perspective and how to frame questions that can then be answered with existing data resources. You will develop your own perspectives about various trends within the market and within adjacent markets to inform areas of additional research. Lastly, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a variety of regular reporting dashboards and reports.
You should be an ambitious and curious individual who is excited by the challenge of conducting research in a highly technical, yet rapidly developing industry. You will be expected to consume and analyze large amounts of data, including unstructured alternative data sources. You will also need to maintain a high degree of attention to detail with every project, as data integrity is critical for decision-making. Experience with SQL and Python, or similar languages are a must. Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn everything cryptocurrency are a requirement for this role. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to bridge the gap between technical data engineers and business leaders, with both written and verbal communication. This is the most challenging aspect of this role.
