The portfolio is dynamic with new product launches, and complementary with increased connection and utility from multiple devices and supplemental subscription services. Together, these durable products and services drive a flywheel business where long-term customer benefits yield greater device engagement, demand for related devices, and broader purchasing behavior with Amazon.

The Device Economics team are thought leaders for the wider Amazon Devices & Services organization creating and developing business models to help decide which segments we should enter, which devices or services we should build, and how our existing portfolio should evolve. The analytical services and tools we’re working on with Devices focus on areas such as automating demand model generation and economic value estimation that drive roadmap and pricing decisions. The Decision Science team within Device Economics needs an additional leader and manager. This leader will hire and develop scientists to deeply understand business problems and apply their expertise and judgment to advance business decisions. This leader will work alongside a colleague who leads other product lines, and work with technical scientists and engineers in the development software to scale execution and scientific excellence.

In this role, you will support up to SVP*-level decision meetings around approving confidential funding requests (PRFAQs) for brand new devices and services, build decisions around how many hardware devices to manufacture prior to receiving any customer signal, and pricing decisions around how to price and promote products and services. You will leverage Science and Tools produced by the Device Economics team such as conjoint demand models to produce these recommendations. As the leader of the Decision Science part of the team, you will define and set relationships with critical decision makers to improve the end-customer experience by making the decisions that impact those end-customers more data and Science-driven.
