The Actuary is responsible for forecasting, reserving, fee development, regulatory requirements and financial reporting. This person will train and coach actuarial staff and actively support all internal and external customers to explain and support analyses and methodologies.

How you will make an impact:

  • Projects future results based on historical data.
  • Develops complex analysis and reviews results for reasonableness.
  • Advises and provides guidance to internal and external customers.
  • Prepares and presents documents to support analysis to internal and external customers.
  • Resolves escalated or complex issues/problems.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

What we look for:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field is preferred and/or actuarial exam credits. Candidates with proven experience will not be excluded from consideration.
  • Associate, Society of Actuaries (ASA) or near ASA preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Knowledge of actuarial concepts, practices and procedure.
  • Strong organization, time and project management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of Current Dental Terminology (“CDT”) codes and dental nomenclature preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, supervisory, coaching, and training skills.
  • Knowledge and application of English grammar including composition, editing and proofreading skills.
  •  Proficiency in programmatic languages such as SQL, Python, R preferred.
  •  Experience writing complex queries and stored procedures preferred.
  •  Technical knowledge of data storage structures, data mining and data cleansing preferred.
  •  Experience with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau preferred.
  •  Understanding of web scraping and automation using tools such as Selenium preferred.
