Mr D Food - Data Science Engineer

This position reports to the Head of Operations of Mr D Food.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Compiling technical specifications around data science requirements for the Mr D Food development team
• Developing automated daily & hourly order forecasting models
• Developing dynamic delivery times estimators
• Building customer segmentation and Recency/Frequency models to automate CRM journeys
• Automated marketing push based on RFM model
• Restaurant food preparation time prediction per restaurant 
• Restaurant list personalisation & restaurant scoring model
• Developing a recommendations engine to be implemented on the Mr D Food app
• Recommended menu items based on previous purchase history and business rules
• ATL attribution of ad airing times vs app sessions measurement
• Operationalizing prediction models into Mr D Food's products using Python

Your Team:

You will report to the Head of Operations of Mr D Food. Your regular points of contact are the wider Mr D Food Operation team as well as Engineering, Product and Marketing

Skills & Attributes required:

• Experience in Python and Linux
• Knowledge of and experience with mainstream machine learning (ML) tools
• Ability to code and implement recommendations / automations into Mr D Food’s systems
• Attention to detail in a high-pressure environment
• Advanced analytical ability
• Ability to align theoretical data science skills with real world business problems
• Willingness to buy into the requirements of a fast-paced start-up environment
• Ability to verbalize as well as visualize findings and results
• Enterprising spirit and ability to take ownership of tasks

Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics and/or Computer Science
• 3 years or more work experience as a data scientist
• Data science exposure in a retail or e-commerce environment is beneficial
