MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use statistical and machine learning techniques to create the next generation of Recommender Systems at EdCast
  • Analyze and understand large amounts of Edcast’s historical business data for specific instances of personalization and recommendation
  • Use your knowledge of machine learning fundamentals to develop and execute new algorithms, evaluate with small scale experiments and later productionize solutions at scale
  • Work on search/information retrieval problems
  • Investigate and solve exciting and difficult challenges in machine learning, classification, data science, content analysis, and deep learning
  • Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A MS in CS, Machine Learning, Statistics, Operations Research or in a highly quantitative field
  • Experience training and serving machine learning modeling.
  • Strong ML breadth and depth
  • Strong skills with SQL
  • Strong skills with Python/Spark (or similar)
  • Communication and data presentation skills
  • Desire to work at a startup pace in a small company with a high degree of ownership
  • Strong motivation, gumption, and an appetite for continuous, incremental changes and completing challenging projects fast
  • High level of curiosity about engineering outside of your immediate discipline and an incessant desire for learning


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS in CS, Machine Learning, Statistics, Operations Research
  • 2+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling and analysis
  • Superior ML breadth and depth
  • Expert skills with SQL
  • Expert skills with Spark/Python (or similar)
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Keras, Tensorflow)
  • Superior problem solving ability
