Job Description

Your focus will be on delivering value to our clients by enhancing the quality and coverage of our commodities datasets. You’ll be called on to implement processes that monitor data quality, and devise means to resolve identified issues. A background in commodities data will stand you in good stead for this. Strong technical skills will be required to support this work, as you’ll be one of the architects for production processes that directly impact our users.

You’ll have opportunities to grow. As Wood Mackenzie cements its transition to the latest technologies, we will expand our dataset coverage and enhance our analytics. You will be called upon to support their development.

You’ll need to be flexible and able to manage your time and workload, since priorities can change at short notice as business needs arise.

Qualifications

• Experience in data related roles, demonstrating customer focus and knowledge of core concepts around ingestion, cleansing, and data quality
• Strong skills in Relational Database systems, with ability to query and analyse data using SQL or other techniques
• Skills in a data visualisation package (such as PowerBI)
• Proficiency with Excel
• Worked in areas identifying and applying technology solutions to solve business problems using agile methodologies
• Excellent communication skills, including mentoring more junior colleagues and managing others’ workloads
• A keen interest and passion for learning new technologies or data skills like Python, understanding of AWS and APIs is an advantage
