We are seeking self-starters who are highly motivated, efficient, professional, communicative, and able to contribute to the team on day one. The BI developer Lead will participate in the development of Framework Manager Models, reports, cubes, Tableau Extracts, Dashboards and the design and implementation of overall BI solutions. The BI Developer Lead will also work on all technical administrative work including upgrading the applications and servers to newer version, and migrating content when needed

  • Providing functional and technical guidance to the BI development team.
  • Managing daily technical challenges and communicates to management any risks or issues.
  • Interacting with technical teams and development resources to help translate requirements into BI solutions, reports, and dashboards. This will include using tools like Tableau and Cognos.
  • Analyze business requirements and write technical specifications for BI tools like Cognos and Tableau to develop Reports, Extracts, Dashboards, Cubes, Framework Manager Packages.
  • Perform administrative and support activities across a multi-environment Tableau infrastructure including.
  • Design BI solutions based on requirements.
  • Develop Cognos & Tableau content, specifically Reports in Report Studio, Cognos Cubes using Transformer, Events in Event Studio, Extracts, Visualizations and Workbooks in Tableau.
  • Create complex formulas and calculations within Tableau to meet the needs of complex business logic and good knowledge on Level of Detail Expressions.
  • Manage project release schedule and deployment.
  • Install, Configure, Implement and Customize the Application Software on different Environments including Cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain operations of large Cognos & Tableau Installations and upgrades
  • Schedule & Monitor Daily, Weekly, Monthly Reports Factored upon Data Refresh Cycles and server contention
  • Security administration, release management, troubleshooting and general systems maintenance.
  • Experience with creation of users, groups, projects, workbooks and the appropriate permission sets for Tableau server logons and security checks.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in managing small teams of BI developers.
  • Advanced knowledge of reports performance optimization; Perform administrative and support activities across a multi-environment Tableau infrastructure including security administration, release management, troubleshooting and general systems maintenance
  • Experience with creation of users, groups, projects, workbooks and the appropriate permission sets for Tableau server logons and security checks
  • Strong DW-BI Skills; Data modeling and advanced Reporting experience
  • Extensive experience in Cognos & Tableau portal functionality
  • Experience in development of Framework Manager Models and Query Packages
  • Experience in developing complex dashboards, reports and cubes using Report Studio and Transformer
  • Extensive Experience with Cognos Query Studio, Powerplay Studio, Event Studio
  • Extensive Knowledge in Oracle, SQL Server SQL writing skills
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills
  • Knowledge of ETL & Snowflake Concepts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Medicaid or Health care data is preferred
  • Cloud (AWS and Azure) Technologies and Storage
  • Experience with TOAD is preferred.
  • Expert level skills in data analysis and visualization.
  • Proficiency in Data Visualization packages (Tableau, Cognos, etc.).
  • Proficiency with relational databases and Big Data platforms.
  • Proficiency in Data Extraction languages such as SQL.
  • Extraordinary analytical skills, coupled with the ability to form hypotheses and draw meaningful insights from disparate data sources. The ability to understand data, process it, extract value from it, visualize it and communicate insights to audiences of various backgrounds, including senior management
