The RoleOptimus Ride software engineers create the software at the heart of our vehicles and systems. Our software needs to process complex dataflows and make decisions with real world consequences. We are looking for engineers motivated to build the machine learning systems that will power the next generation of autonomous vehicles.
Our team is focused on a rapid path to market in order to maximize the benefits of self-driving technologies for all. To do this, we need our engineers to be versatile, have leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling problems across the full range of our systems. Your peers will cumulatively have decades of experience from places like Google X, SpaceX, iRobot, Rethink Robotics, and Draper Laboratories, and have built self-driving vehicles, electric vehicles, manufacturing robots, surgical robots, autonomous drones, and more. You will be creating new technologies through software development that integrates your areas of expertise to enable self-driving systems to be possible today.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the machine learning pipelines used by all Optimus Ride engineering to power our autonomous vehicles.
  • Build the tools, microservices, data pipelines, and systems to support development, experimentation, CI/CD, verification, validation, and monitoring of ML models.
  • Own and solve complex problem from end-to-end.
  • Continuously improve our ML processes, tools, and standards
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate the latest packages and frameworks in the ML ecosystem
  • Work with ML practitioners to solve complex problems

Requirements

  • Deep software engineering experience
  • Experience in ML, ML orchestration, containerization, GPU Infrastructure, TensorFlow, and other tools and libraries in modern ML pipelines
  • A proven record of developing commercially fielded machine learning solutions
  • Experience with CI/CD deployment patterns
  • Experience writing production quality code
  • BS, MS or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Bonus

  • Applied background in data engineering
  • Experience with writing production C++ software
  • Experience developing distributed computing infrastructure for neural network training
  • Experience working with camera and LIDAR data in a machine learning context
  • GPU/CUDA programming
  • Automotive or robotics industry background
