Head of DataOps & Render Support

Framestore is an Oscar, Bafta, and Emmy award-winning global creative company working in film, advertising, AR/MR/VR, theme park dark rides, and pre/post visualization work among many other creative endeavors. We are looking for a driven problem solver possessing a strong appreciation for team building and communication.

The Head of DataOps & Render Support in Mumbai will provide help support and coordinate for the Global Systems and Infrastructure heads. The role is based in the Mumbai office, supporting the busy department heads across a diverse set of technology teams. The successful candidate will need to be highly organised with great communication skills, and a can do attitude.

We are looking for someone with an interest in technology and visual effects who also has experience in managing a team. This is a demanding but rewarding role with lots of room for growth and development.

Responsibilities include:

• The smooth running of the Mumbai and Data Ops Render Support teams

• Analysis and recommendations on enhancing the performance of the Render Farm and Storage use

• Work closely with your global peers to ensure global standards, processes, and workflows are maintained with your teams

• Establish, drive, and implement best practices for your teams and in concert with the global teams

• Establish and maintain career development paths (CDP) for your team members

• Work with the Talent Development team to establish and maintain a training program to foster growth and complement the CDP for your team members

• Work closely with the Systems team globally, including L1, L2, L3, to ensure your team needs are met and set expectations of your teams requirements

• Work in concert with L3 to establish roadmaps for your team’s tools, task automation, and reporting & analysis of the Render Farm and Storage use

• Provide supervision and mentoring to your direct reports

• Drive and manage the recruitment efforts for DataOps & RenderSupport

• Work closely with the Heads of Productions and Production teams to ensure connectivity between locations

• Work with show Supervisors to capture objectives and success metrics

• Establish framework, workflows, and tools which enable comprehensive data analysis for the Render Farm and Storage use

• Lead your team’s efforts to Monitoring, track, and report render and data usage for each project.

• Liaising with senior artists to discuss data and render resource optimisation. 

Requirements

Essential Skills :

A strong leader with over 10 years of experience. At least 5 yrs of Team management or Team Lead experience.

• Knowledge of Linux essential commands

• Experience in Industry (Pipeline, Network, Production)

• Prior experience in Render Farm management

• Ticket handling, Incident/Problem/Change management

• 5+ years of Management experience

• Good to have knowledge on Windows Platform

• Coding experience and understanding (python, C++, Shell scripting etc )
