Requirements

What we are looking for

We are looking for Engineers with background and expertise in all things data. That starts from data modelling, processing, and cleaning, goes over analysing and enriching data, to the semantic work of a Knowledge Engineer. In this role you will be part of the newly established Data & Semantic Technologies team. This team is responsible for designing & building the highly scalable and flexible data backend that we at Causaly need to make our vision become real. You will be working on data models, integration of new data sources and knowledge assets, our knowledge graph, our data stores, etc. Doing all the magic with data and semantics that matter for us. You will enable & empower the Applied AI and Application Engineering teams and create true business value by linking their outcomes.

Sneak preview on what you can expect to work on

  • Work on exciting business problems requiring the creation, integration, maintenance, and management of data & accompanying ontologies
  • Work directly with a multitude of technical, product and business stakeholders.
  • Build and industrialise our data pipelines together with other great engineers.
  • Work on core aspects of search and knowledge modelling.
  • Be responsible for designing and implementing Causaly’s data models and schemas, contribute to our database stack and management.

What we expect

Successful candidates should have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related technical field
  • Proven experience in data and/or knowledge engineering roles with hands-on contributions to modelling and managing of data
  • Strong engineering background enabling rapid PoC development as well as productionised modelling and scripting
  • Experience with state-of-the-art techniques and methodologies for data modelling, analysis, integration, representation and linking
  • A product and user-centric mindset
  • Proven problem solving and project execution skills, sense of ownership, organisational skills, high attention to detail and quality
  • Proficiency in Python, test-driven development
  • Knowledge of or interest in biomedicine

You have something additional to bring to the table? Such as experiences with modern software development practices (testing, version control, documentation, software design patterns, etc…), cloud infrastructures, knowledge of DB query design and optimization, NoSQL, big data and graph technologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL, Neo4j, Cypher), experiences with biomedical ontologies design and integration? Any of these will be considered a plus.
