Our customers include firms from the Big Four and global top 10 in accounting. Our targets are typically global firms, but can also include international and large nationwide organisations if they’re big enough to have the challenges that Dayshape can solve.

As a company, we live our values every day and we're committed to making sure our friendly and inclusive environment grows with us.

About the role

Dayshape is a single product company, and the Product department interfaces with almost every other team in the company including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services and Support. As a product data analyst you will work closely with these departments to help deliver the product data that the business needs in order to be successful.

You will be deep diving into Dayshape’s product features and uncovering insights regarding customer usage and feature adoption. Sharing those insights via intuitive dashboards and reports will be a core part of your responsibilities. These insights will assist us in our product development lifecycle by uncovering pain points and help prioritise where value can be driven forward. Likewise, you will be delivering “analytics as a feature” to our customers (via the customer success team) by providing easy to understand reports regarding customers onboarding into Dayshape.

What you’ll do in more detail:

  • Work with Product and Engineering team members to develop the mechanisms to obtain product and feature analytics.
  • Work very closely with Product Managers to assist in the creation and ongoing maintenance of product analytics dashboards.
  • Lead on the analysis of product data to identify trends, patterns and insights.
  • Gather supporting data during product discovery phases on existing product functionality.
  • Connect with stakeholders and conduct presentations on the narrative of the data.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success department to build customer-facing dashboards and reporting on customer platform usage, feature adoption, and other relevant metrics.
  • Provide support to Product in the creation of a strategy and designs for dashboards aimed at specific user personas within the product.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve product performance and customer experience.
  • Support Marketing and Sales departments with relevant product data which can translate into marketable messaging, differentiators and unique value propositions.
  • Assist in the development of KPIs across the breadth, depth, usability, frequency and sentiment measurements of Dayshape to help drive underlying product performance analysis.

About You:

  • You have a proven track record (2+ years' experience) in product analytics, data analysis and visualisation, using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SAP BI.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with uncertainty and enjoys working within an ambiguous environment where we don’t have established ways of working, but willing to get stuck in to define these processes for the future.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Be comfortable discussing technical concepts, with an appreciation of engineering fundamentals.
  • Have a strong ability to operate both independently and in a team environment.
  • Be willing to help shape a new role in a fast-growing company and own the direction of travel to build product analytics into a core strength within the company.
  • You have a natural curiosity and are passionate about learning new skills and technologies.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and have strong teamwork skills. You can work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and customer success representatives, gather requirements, and ensure the successful implementation of data-driven solutions.
  • You have a keen attention to detail, allowing you to spot patterns, trends, and anomalies within datasets, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the analysis performed.
  • You are a proactive problem-solver and can identify challenges, propose solutions, and take the initiative to improve data analysis processes and reporting methods.
  • Passionate about delving into the detail of product data.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working with complex enterprise software applications.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Kusto, Python
  • Financial / revenue data experience

Working Details

We are open to this being a full-time role (5 days, 37.5 hours per week) or part time role (at least 3 days per week). We typically work from 09:00 - 17:30, though we’re happy to be flexible around this. If you’d like a flexible working arrangement, please just let us know in your application.

We're making the most of hybrid working, so you won't need to come into the office everyday (unless you want to!). We’re ideally looking for someone in/around Edinburgh, though we’re open to somebody working remotely in the UK, with occasional travel to our Edinburgh office for workshops, planning sessions, and meet ups.

Join the team!

Equality of opportunity is more than just a responsibility: we believe it’s a huge advantage to welcome a variety of experiences and perspectives into the team. Diversity is a great asset and, as such, we strongly encourage applications from any background.

This is your opportunity to really influence how we get things done. We’re doing well, but there’s lots more to do in order to maintain the high bar and pace that we’ve set.

Everyone here is growing personally as the company grows, so if that sounds like something you’d like to be part of, we’d love to see your application.

The deadline for applications is Friday the 9th of May with interviews taking place over the following couple of weeks.
