The Business Intelligence Analyst Position

Sunnova Energy is searching for a Business Intelligence Analyst to support sales and service operations in Germany. The Business Intelligence Analyst will provide substantial analytical support that will be utilized to drive business decisions.

Business Intelligence Analyst Responsibilities

  • Prepares analysis and reporting for key activities and projects by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information; reviews reporting packages and documents detailed explanations for significant variances
  • Creates business intelligence reports, dashboards, and automations using data analysis best practices
  • Design and develop BI dashboards and reports to visualize data into consumable information for organizational metrics and KPI's
  • Extract and analyze data patterns and related trends
  • Implement, develop, maintain and/or update BI tools, databases, dashboards, systems, processes, workflows, or methods
  • Participate in improving and streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability, and value
  • Organize and participate in project planning activities to identify and document reporting requirements and develop organizational models, policies and procedures governing distribution and usage of data
  • Perform statistical analysis, build predictive models, and formulate decision models that relate to operational activities to find opportunities for financial and quality improvement
  • Understand data standards and identify data abnormalities
  • Finds correlations in data to discover meaningful insights
  • Instills data quality and integrity in all solutions delivered
  • Translates business goals into technical specifications and requirements documentation
  • Document business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements for projects
  • Compiles routine executive summary and key performance indicator reports
  • Identifies key areas for process improvement through data analysis and
  • strategic thinking

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or data analysis studies
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
  • Skilled with Tableau, Power BI, MS Excel and other data analytics tools
  • Experience with accounting and marketing concepts
  • Ability to read and understand database structures
  • Strong data validation skills
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members, including executives
  • 5+ years leading, developing and coaching people
  • Business English; speak, read and write
  • Start-up mentality
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ambitious and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Knowledge of MS Office and PC user skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL Data Tools
  • Python
  • Experience with residential solar and storage or energy company
  • Knowledge of Salesforce

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to assess metric outcomes on a relative basis and create sound recommendations based on accurate data evaluation.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines

Working Conditions

  • Work from company office
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods of time working at computer workstation
