We are looking for Data Engineer - Operations to join our team! As the Data Engineer – Operations, your mission is to build, leverage and maintain our genomics data query platform, evaluate data requests, and ensure timely delivery of data to stakeholders. The Data Engineer - Operations reports to the Head of Data Engineering and is responsible for developing and using part of the Data Hub infrastructure, building processes to organize data queries, run data quality checks, and maintaining the accompanying documentation for the Data Operations team activities.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engineer data models and queries to answer a wide range of data requests ranging from genomics, scientific, cloud pipelines and product usage related data.
  • Build, maintain and leverage the data query platform, ensuring data is easily accessible to your team and authorized stakeholders.
  • Successful management of data request, ensuring timely delivery of data to stakeholders, including evaluation of data requests on legal and compliance perspectives.
  • Own processes to organize data requests and run data quality checks, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to platform documentation and guidelines for the Data operations team activities.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL, data storage & management solutions,
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques (ETL, Python, dashboarding).
    • Knowledge of scalable data lake technologies (Parquet, Delta Tables, Spark, Databricks or similar)
    • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Familiarity with Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
