Description
Verily is seeking a Product Manager for our Research/AI team, which powers key innovative capabilities for our business. This product manager will partner closely with research scientists, engineers, other product managers and cross-functional teams to translate research into product capabilities that power the next generation of CSP offerings.
In this role, you’ll oversee a comprehensive research and translational program that enables research teams to deliver state-of-the art research aligned behind key product priorities, identifying new ways to innovate our products and services and to rapidly grow the business. You will have a strong foundation in novel healthcare research and robust health IT infrastructure development.
You will be responsible for making a balanced case for resources prioritization and shepherding R&D projects. You will help produce state-of-the-art results by identifying the best external partners, data sources, and product focus before, during, and after technical development. You are comfortable navigating the academic publication world to encourage appropriate scientific and clinical scrutiny of any research the team produces. After building a portfolio of promising technologies you may work with regulatory experts, productionization teams, and product deployment teams to ensure products are surfaced in a way that makes the most positive impact. To accomplish these tall tasks you bring empathy, keen understanding of soft power, clear communication, and strong analytical skills that will help with influencing and collaborating cross functionally and across multiple levels of management. You’ll continually synthesize data and evaluate strategy to align innovation with the needs of other Verily product teams, with an eye towards ultimate customer and market needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop product strategy based on business, regulatory, legal, privacy, clinical, compliance, and technical considerations.
- Collaborate with engineering, clinical and user-experience teams to define a funnel of compelling R&D projects and prioritize to create a steady pipeline of state-of-the-art product opportunities.
- Collaborate with business development, legal, and compliance to ensure timely and thorough execution of projects.
- Collaborate with key opinion leaders, external partners, intra-Alphabet teams.
- Clearly communicate progress and hurdles to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of Software Product Management experience (i.e. creating strategic product roadmap(s) from conception to launch and working with cross-functional teams) from product strategy to launching and landing.
- Track record of leading commercialization efforts to achieve product revenues goal.
- Experience driving the product vision, go-to-market strategy and design discussions.
- Experience operating within and across cross-functional teams (Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, Business Development, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Marketing, etc.) while selling product vision to external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS, MBA, MPH, MD, JD, or graduate degree in a management or STEM field or 4+ years of experience working in the medical device or pharma space.
- Experience at large institutions, with demonstrated track record of forming, leading, and pivoting cohesive teams.
- Experience shaping healthcare products in complex regulatory, reimbursement and policy environments.
- Domain knowledge in the medical industry including areas such as computer aided diagnostics, healthcare delivery, biotech and pharma (or a strong desire to learn).
- Domain knowledge of data acquisition, IRB, tech-transfer, and / or university relations.
