Associate Principal Data Architect

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide data architecture expertise and leadership for large-scale client marketing and operations databases.
• Own master test strategy, deployment, and rollout strategy during project and warehouse execution.
• Provide opportunities to optimize existing data warehouse structures, processes, and capabilities.
• Design new methods and processes to ensure maximum effectiveness of investments in technology, shifting manual operations towards automation where possible.
• Oversee and optimize data pipelines through a variety of ETL tools, including Snowflake and AWS.
• Evaluate new datasets and determine appropriate ingestion techniques. Work with ETL and data engineers to execute the vision.
• Work with business intelligence analysts and data scientists to ensure datasets meet reporting needs.
• Perform analysis and discovery activities to define and scope projects.
• Assist in milestone management, issues escalation, documentation, scope change identification and status reporting.
• Attend and lead client calls as SME throughout program.
• Articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner, both in speech and writing; understand the audience and tailor messages accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in data engineering and architecture with emphasis on design, implementation, automation, and optimization of cloud warehousing solutions.
• 2+ years in a consulting role or performing architecture responsibilities in an internal consulting environment.
• 2+ years leading data warehousing programs or ETL pipelines programs.
• Experience in cloud technologies (a heavy focus on Snowflake, AWS, Azure) and their capabilities as they relate to customer, digital, and operational data and digital analytics. 
• Experience in data testing techniques, methods, and automation.
• Experience in integration solutions such as Boomi.
• Familiarity with Scrum, DevOps, and DataOps methodologies, and supporting tools such as JIRA.
• Familiarity with reporting solutions such as Tableau is a plus.
• Advanced skills in SQL or other programming languages is a plus.
• Consumer or dining domain knowledge is a plus.
