We are seeking a Data Engineer who is looking to help define how we instrument, organize, store and vend data related to customer communication and engagement. This would help us to generate insights to tailor our messaging, delighting the customer and maximizing the engagement.

As Data Engineer, you will lead and execute on data engineering initiatives to build an analytical solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with disparate datasets and be someone who loves to bring data together to answer business questions at speed. You should have deep expertise in the creation and management of datasets and the proven ability to translate the data into meaningful insights through collaboration with analysts, BI engineers, Software Developers and business stakeholders.

On any given day, we use Python, Scala, Java, SQL, Lambda, Redshift and Glue as well as other public AWS services and a host of Amazon internal tools. We don’t expect you to be an expert in, or necessarily even be familiar with all of the technologies listed above, but we do expect you to be excited to learn about them.
Weekly team events give the teams the chance to unwind virtually via games, snacks, and drinks. It is our goal to simultaneously work hard, have fun, and grow as individuals.


Basic Qualifications


A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering) or equivalent industry experience·

3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

3+ Experience in SQL

2+ years of experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines·

2+ years of experience in scripting languages like Python etc.

1+ Experience with massive parallel processing (MPP) systems or database like Redshift, Teradata or Hadoop/EMR.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in an engineering or technical field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.

Experience architecting data lake and cloud data warehouses.

Experience with AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, S3, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda and SNS/SQS.


AWS certifications or other related professional technical certifications.
