We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing Business Analytics team. As a Data Analyst at Spreedly, you will work alongside a group of self-starters interested in solving real-world problems and in streamlining our internal capacity to simplify a complex environment with billions of data points and improve an industry by analyzing the new operating system for payments.

The ideal candidate is a data-obsessed, versatile professional who is passionate about telling data stories to non-technical audiences. They are able to call on their deep technical expertise and business knowledge to advance our capabilities to synthesize large volumes of complex big data and refine that raw data into actionable visual insights that are meaningful and important to the business. They will also work with business leaders and managers to use data to drive executive-level decision making, collaborating to build a data-driven culture within Spreedly.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise all phases of business analysis, including data quality, data analysis, data visualization, and presentation of results and deliverables
  • Build a positive relationship with business partners to provide operational/useful insights to improve business critical metrics with a focus on the growth of the business
  • Explain trends across data sources, potential opportunities for growth or improvement, and data caveats for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive (including forecasting), and prescriptive data analysis
  • Participate in the creation and support of analytics standards and best practices
  • Utilize code (Python/R/SQL) for data analysis

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to design tests (A/B, multivariate, etc.), track and measure the results, and analyze the results to quantify the impact on the business
  • Conduct revenue optimization & product early-life usage analysis to guide the growth & marketing team initiatives
  • Provide ad hoc reports as requested to support internal business units

Requirements

  • 5+ years working in data or analytics, with experience in a SaaS environment within the payments industry required
  • Experience with Looker, GitHub, and DBT (or a similar tool) 
  • Hands-on experience coding with R or Python and working with API calls and JSON to generate business insights and drive better organizational decision-making
  • Knowledge of key SaaS metrics and product benchmarks (DAU/MAU, user retention, etc.)
  • Experience with both pre- and post-sales analytics and go-to-market metrics such as conversion, churn, NRR, LTV, etc.
  • Have solid project management skills, including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, working with cross-functional stakeholders, and navigating ambiguity to deliver results
  • Enthusiasm for conducting reproducible analysis, code reviews, version control, and solid documentation
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field
