Description

The Verily Applied AI LLMs team develops a dedicated language understanding and generation technology for improving clinical research and care, which is at the heart of Verily’s mission. By joining our team you will take an active part in shaping how we leverage this technology to make a real impact in healthcare.

Responsibilities 

  • Identify the most important to address challenges unique to clinical language and corpora (for ex. Input length).
  • Explore existing and novel model strategies and techniques to address these challenges (for ex. external memory and augmented retrieval).
  • Develop working scalable production level solutions (0.5M daily queries).
  • Work at every R&D process stage, including data collection and preprocessing, human annotation task definition, offline evaluation setup, ongoing model training, testing and inference. 
  • Support cross company LLM utilization, making LLMs easily accessible, providing guidance, and developing tools for leveraging humans in the loop etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with developing deep learning models.
  • Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) research.
  • Experience in collecting and developing new annotated datasets.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in the boundary of NLP with solid track record.
  • Industry experience in building production-quality models, including coding, testing and evaluation.
  • Experience working with and developing Large Language Models.
