We observed that across the healthcare ecosystem, a vast amount of digital healthcare data is being generated, fueled by technologies such as next-generation sequencing ("NGS"). This data holds promise to accelerate our understanding of biology and disease.

The Senior Manager, Multimodal R&D reports to the SVP Multimodal R&D. The Senior Manager, Multimodal R&D goal is to supervise the Multimodal R&D Engineering team and to take the charge of the Multimodal R&D projects, involving image processing, radiomics feature extraction and statistical analysis, in order to meet the expectations of the clinical partners.


Responsabilities :

You will be responsible for (but not limited to):

People Management & Supervision of Interns and PhD Students:

  • Plan and allocate resources and ensure they are suitable for employees to perform properly,
  • Work with HR to interview, select and hire employees. Train employees, including onboarding of new joiners,
  • Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures,
  • Give regular feedback, conduct quarterly and year-end reviews, and set objectives.
  • Supervise interns and PhD students with the academic partners, and ensure that they contribute to the next features of the SOPHiA products. Ensure their training.

Development of clinical projects and collaboration with physicians:

  • Meet the clinical partners in order to define the user needs and purposes, and to select the more relevant data,
  • Organize the documentation of the clinical data,
  • Be aware of the latest advances in clinical research in the fields of investigation.

Supervision of the Radiomics R&D projects:

  • Take part in the Radiomic team review meetings in order to design new applications in agreement with the user needs and the product manager requests, in collaboration with the Radiomics IT team,
  • Supervise, plan, schedule and take part in the design of new applications, including deriving new models and algorithms, and their implementation in the Radiomics software and the SOPHiA Platform,
  • Ensure the connection with the IT team for implementation consistency and technical support,
  • Provide a scientific watch on the state of the art in radiomics and statistical analysis for research and clinical routine.

Requirements

  • Strong background in computer science or applied mathematics (PhD will be a plus).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Tech industrie.
  • AT least 2 years of experience of team management.
  • Strong knowledge of Machine Learning.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary research team, plus the motivation and discipline to carry out autonomous research.
  • Proficiency in English is a must. French is a nice-to-have.
  • Experience/Interest in the healthcare industry, especially in oncology, would be an asset

Location: Pessac, FR (Bordeaux area). Office-based, including 2 days per week remote / 3 days on-site.
