We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our computer vision team. We’re small, dynamic, fast-moving and developing on the cutting edge of drone technology and image processing. You will be responsible for and focused on building machine learning models for key computer vision problems which will power new DroneDeploy products. These products will replace manual tasks that our customers are doing that are tedious, error-prone or dangerous and impact over 500,000 drone based job sites in 142 countries. While this posting is listed for Toronto, we are open to hiring nationwide.

We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our computer vision team. Responsibilities
- Train, improve, evaluate, integrate and deploy machine learning models for a variety of use cases in computer vision like object detection, segmentation, and feature extraction
- Take ownership of deliverables from design, implementation, release, and support as a self-driven engineer
- Eager to work and collaborate well with other team members
- Meet our standards for code quality and development best practices
- Own problems end-to-end, and be willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done
Requirements
- 5-8 years of professional (non-academic) software engineering experience. Meaning you can design, build, deploy and debug production systems.
- Experience working on computer vision systems like SLAM, SfM and MVS
- Experience deploying and maintaining production ML systems that run at a large scale
- Experience running and monitoring multiple ML experiments in cloud environments concurrently.
- Deep experience with modern ML in Pytorch, Keras, TF or equivalent
- Experience building and improving models like MaskRCNN, Resnet, Unet
- High degree of comfort with UNIX and training on cloud instances GCP
- Demonstrable experience with applied deep learning (Github, Kaggle etc ...)
- Ability to timebox experiments and triage routes to success
- Experience as effective remote employee able to overlap standup AM meetings PST
