The Science and Design Leadership Recruiting Academic Partnerships (SDLAP) Team focuses on building top specialized talent communities in UX Design and Applied Research, including Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision, Speech Recognition/Natural Language Processing, Optimization, Economics, Sustainability, Hardware, Data Science and Robotics globally at Amazon. We build teams in emerging fields and recruit senior Design and Science leaders. As a core talent function, we also develop Amazon's presence at key gatherings, drive academic relations and facilitate internal community efforts. Our efforts support Amazon's development of new businesses, such as Alexa and Amazon Go while ensuring state-of-the-art research and design are at the forefront of Amazon's more mature organizations.

The Market Intelligence (MI) Analytics Team within SDLAP is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. You will be owning CRM data migration to support the SDLAP org initiatives. As a Data Engineer on the MI Analytics team, you will
· Build robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines using SQL, EMR, Python, Spark, Redshift, and Lambda
· Build and deliver high quality data architecture to support business intelligence engineer, data scientists and program managers’ reporting needs.
· Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources.
· Drive both business and technology solutions to improve visibility into key Amazon recruiting metrics.
· Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.
· Translate data into actionable insights for the stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications


· 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
· Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
· Experience in SQL
· 3+ years of industry experience in software development, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or related field with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets
· Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline
· Proficiency in SQL and at least one modern programming language such as Python, Perl, Ruby, or Java.
· Experience using business intelligence reporting tools such as Tableau, or Quick Sight.


Preferred Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, Business/Financial Analyst or Systems Analyst in a company with large, complex data sources
· Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
. 2 years of experience using JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5 or other web technologies
· Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices on data engineering
· Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
