Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity  

We are on a journey to lift our organisational data capability to enable our people to do what they do best – build amazing customer experiences, create growth, and deliver value to the business.  

Data and Insight analysts are part of the broader Data and Performance team who work closely with the business, technical folk, and internal stakeholders.  You’ll work primarily in a data product squad to design, build, and deliver beautiful data products and insights across a variety of domains. To support your growth as an analyst, training time, courses, and technical mentoring will be provided.  

In a nutshell, here are your key areas of responsibility;   

  • Work directly with other analysts and engineers in your squad and the broader team to develop and deliver data products and find process improvements to capture data more effectively and ensure access / deployment to users  
  • Provide peer review and proper data quality assurance services to the team and/or your squad   
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of data products to enable improved insights, decisions, and automation, working with business stakeholders at all levels   
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data and insights process within the team and the broader analytics community at Contact. This includes efficient and structured processes for compiling and analysing information, and keeping documentation on data products and standards for analysis and data product development

You’ll work collaboratively to continuously increase the shared pool of knowledge and support continuous improvement across the data community and business users.  

You’re not afraid to challenge your colleagues and challenge the status quo processes and find new initiatives for improvement.  

You have a knack for digesting and organising data in a way that allows you to understand and communicate information in a simple and efficient manner.  

You have an analytical mindset with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail with your documentation so we trust the data you give us.  

As for technical skills, experience in SQL, Python and excel skills are a must. If you have knowledge of Power BI (or similar) and performance frameworks, we’re even more interested.
