The Platform department creates the technology ecosystem that enables Spotify to learn and deliver quickly, while safely and easily scaling to billion customers, and enabling our rapid employee growth around the globe. We are now looking for Data engineers to join a brand new data collection team in our platform. The mission of the team is to facilitate insights through end to end management of data, and hence providing other teams and stakeholders with excellent data quality to build their knowledge on.The challenge includes making sure that we get the right information client side, ensuring the quality and consistency and delivery of said data, in order to efficiently make it available to consumers across the company.

What you'll do
- Be part of a data engineering team dedicated to empower engineers across Spotify to work with data.
- Take active part in discussions and knowledge sharing around metrics, SQL, data science and engineering in general
- Work in multi-functional agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new product objectives.
- Increase developer productivity by building innovative tools that reduce maintenance overhead of working with data pipelines and help increase platform reliability.
- Develop in different technologies and languages ranging from Java and Scala to Python and optimizing SQL.
- Build large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks like Scio and the Google Cloud Platform.
- Use best practices in continuous integration and delivery
Who you are
- You have experience working with data engineering and a deep understanding of that problem space.
- You know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming and automated testing
- You are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively (pairing and mobbing)
- You are pragmatic and understand the tradeoffs between the perfect solution and a working solution.
- You appreciate agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation.
