Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM is seeking an ETL DataStage Developer to join a DevOps squad in the Finance Systems Organization which manages IBM's Indirect Tax Compliance Applications. Top candidates should demonstrate the following characteristics for success: creativity, intellectual curiosity, passion for helping others, problem solving, appreciation for professionalism and excellence in execution. Candidates should also be detail oriented, demonstrate logical thinking, have a history of building strong relationships, and be an excellent communicator.
You will help us build, enhance and maintain our IDT Tax Compliance solutions using skills such as DataStage, DB2, SQL, and Unix. You will also use a variety of tooling, including DataStage 11.7, Linux, Jira, and QMF.
• Work in an agile environment, be responsible for the development, test and support of IBM internal Indirect Tax Compliance applications.
• Ensure adherence to data standards and agile development methodology
• Adopt testing driven development methodology.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain the IT Technical solution
• Utilize DevOps for continuous development, test, deployment, feedback and support
• Follow up with issues and drive things into completion
• Resolve data issues as needed
• Participate in daily Agile scrum (stand up) calls to provide update on tasks completed, in progress and any blockers.
• Fully participate iteration planning, squad retrospective and showcase meetings
• Work cooperatively with squad members
• Continued development of skills.
• Innovation and continuous improvement
• Client and team interaction with strong written and oral communication and listening skills
The team is located in Southbury, CT in an agile open space and uses physical and virtual tools to collaborate and manage their work. The secret to success is our people and culture. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Demonstrated experience programming and data analysis
• Demonstrated organizational, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills, team player and self-starter
Must have successfully completed the apprenticeship program
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• SQL, Unix shell script and Operating System knowledge, Test Driven Development
• Experience with DataStage 11.7
• Experience / Understanding of AGILE practices
