Job Description

Curinos is looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead and grow a cross-functional team of data engineers, data architects, and software developers to build reusable data foundation components, and develop big data and machine learning driven products and solutions. The Data Engineering team builds a proprietary data/analytics ecosystem, and develops a suite of products and solutions to empower banks to make data-driven decisions and chart a faster path to growth.

The organization is at an exciting stage in the data journey as we transform from an on-prem to a hybrid cloud big data ecosystem on AWS. The stack will be comprised of Cloudera, AWS, Databricks and several other data engineering and machine learning frameworks. In this role you will be responsible for this tech stack, and you will also help build the next generation of data pipelines and data lakehouse, with a focus on centralized data ingestion, shareable feature store, end to end governance and delivery of real time data analytics and insights using APIs built on AWS. In this role, you will work closely with product management, analytical leaders, and engineering leadership to build new innovative products, introduce new cloud technologies, mentor/coach team members and execute an ambitious product roadmap.

Qualifications

Candidates should have the following background, skills, and characteristics:

• Experience leading high performing, geographically dispersed technical teams
• Knowledge of Data Engineering, Data Governance and ML best practices
• Experience launching products on AWS (or other cloud platforms)
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering/cloud architecture, with 4+ years of management experience
• Experience in Scala/Java, SQL and Python with a high degree of proficiency
• In depth knowledge of Spark internals and distributed computing
• Experience with big data stack: Impala, Hive, Airflow, Kafka, etc.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms like Databricks and/or Snowflake
• Working knowledge of machine learning techniques is a bonus
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Self–discipline and willingness to learn
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelors or advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) degree, preferably in Computer Science, or Engineering field
