What is the project about?

The network services landscape is very competitive. New technology innovations are increasing customers’ expectations. As a (DevOps) Software Engineer you can deliver the new services fast, customize them to each customer’s needs, and deliver them to the clients customers using the best fit development.

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to strengthen the ETL team which consist of 2 colleagues, working closely together with other teams working on Service Guard, MOOse, Kiara and Netcool within the Tribe but also on UDEX, and Kafka outside the Tribe.

Responsibilities

You will work as a data designer in which position you will work on:

• Data Quality: are data reliable, do the numbers of devices match with the reports;

• Making of data analysis tools and agreements regarding data quality;.
• Operational follow-up;
• Documentation of processes and dataflows;
• Structure the data and the relations;
• Create charts regarding fluctuation and growth;

• The phasing out of Moose Guars;
• Execution of migrations to Cloudera platform.

Requirements

We are searching for someone who enjoys to collaborate within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team, within an open atmosphere with different nationalities and all ages. Who enjoys working agile/scrum and in a complex innovative and dynamic environment. Someone who thinks always a step ahead, who is not easily satisfied with the present state of conditions and who enjoys to learn and master new technologies / programming languages.

Furthermore, we search for someone with:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent technical field;
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English is a must, knowledge of Dutch language is a pre;
• 5+ years of programming experience with Python, PERL, Java etc.;

• Big Data experience and deep understanding and application of modern large scale data processing technology stacks e.g. Cloudera.;
• MySQL experience;
• Network administration skills;
• Docker experience;
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools;

• Understanding of streaming data architectures and technologies for near real-time data processing;
• Ability to drive adoption of Data Engineering best practices and sharing your knowledge;
• Understanding information requirements and translate these into technical solutions.

Some other technologies you might work with / Nice to have:

• 3+ years of Telecom experience;
• A grasp of operational processes;
• Experience in Agile and Dev/Ops environment.
