About the role
Get ready to take your skills to the next level as a Senior Analytics Engineer! This role is all about using your technical expertise and development skills to support data-driven activity and decision-making throughout Adaptavist. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be the go-to person for technical excellence within the team, providing coaching and mentorship to other team members. With excellent communication skills, you will work closely with the team to drive insights and analysis that solve business-critical problems and shape the way forward.
Collaborating with a variety of teams, including marketing, product, HR, finance, and sales, you will work towards solving complex data problems and delivering project-based improvements to the data stack. Supporting the production environment on a rotational basis within normal working hours, you will also assist with customer questions, provide technical support, and resolve issues from the daily production run.
This role has a huge impact on the success of expanding analytics capabilities throughout the organisation. And with the latest tech stack, including Snowflake, Airflow, and DBT, this is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and make a real difference.
What you'll be doing
- Mentor/coach Analytics Engineers and Associate Analytics Engineers on subjects such as etl tooling/data stacks/reporting tools and data modeling (Kimball & Datavault)- Own & Lead on projects within Analytics which enhance the data stack- Support the team by owning and managing escalations- Contribute to the design of the Datavault (Business Vault)  and Kimball Star Schema- Build working relationships with stakeholders and clients internally to successfully deliver against project based activities.- Take the lead on designing analytics and insights solutions to address complex and challenging business questions, problems and needs.- Manage complex projects within the analytics and wider team whilst using recognised project management methodology to achieve successful delivery  - Explore data to identify new patterns and trends- Support the development of  predictive analytics and  statistical/ machine learning models by ensuring Data Scientists receive data in the correct format.- Support  the delivery of timely and accurate reporting to aid operational management and monitoring.- Collaborate with Data and Analytics Engineering teams to facilitate self-service analytics and maintain high data quality throughout.


What we're looking for
- Stakeholder management skills - Advanced skills and experience with SQL- Proven ETL/ELT skills and ability to train others (DBT/Matillion/Alteryx etc )- Experience with Cloud Service Provider technologies (AWS ideal)- Experience of either Kimball (star schema) modeling or Datavault modeling (both Ideal).- Experience of working within and development of a Modern Data stack /Database (Redshift,Snowflake etc)- Relevant programming experience in at least one non SQL coding Language (Python ideal)- Experience with Excel/Google Sheets/etc.- Able to work on own initiative, self motivate, and time manage efficiently- Able to communicate technical solutions/issues to technical and non technical staff- Patient , methodical and able to challenge in a constructive manner, providing evidence and engaging discussion to resolve issues.
