We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join an established team at one of our major clients. The role is to focus on the creation, management and maintenance of data products and pipeline within the Azure and Foundry platforms in line with team goals. The role will require a person who is very focussed on delivery and suit someone who is excited working in a fast paced big, complex system

Job responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality data products and solutions in line with business data requirements,
  • Managing work within Azure DevOps (ADO),
  • Provide input into work planning - Features and PBI's,
  • Responsible for creating and delivering Tasks in ADO,
  • Attend agile ceremonies as required by the team lead,
  • Develop a deep understanding of the end to end data pipelines from the source systems, Azure Data Lake (DL) and Foundry,
  • Help build out Production data products and deliver data to and within Azure and Foundry, at pace and scale, to enable analytics and transformation programmes
  • Build a good understanding of customer data requirements,
  • Transform and manipulate data using python and sql,
  • Work with strategic 3rd parties such as Palantir and other bp support teams to ensure data is delivered on time any problems are quickly resolved,
  • Proactively manage and maintain end to end data pipelines,
  • Apply coding best practise to all work,
  • Conduct peer review of code and logic as required,
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and other 3rd party support teams as required,
  • Reflect Sword’s and our client’s values and behaviours.

Requirements

  • High level of competence in SQL and Pyspark,
  • High level of competence with Azure platform,
  • Knowledge of Power BI useful,
  • Working in Agile development environment an advantage,
  • Knowledge of Foundry useful but not expected,
  • API Calls,
  • UI/JavaScript,
  • Interfacing with other systems.
