Stripe handles billions of dollars every year for millions of businesses around the world, and the Risk team plays a critical role in the company’s financial and partnership health. Risk is a dynamic space where we face ever-evolving challenges, and we rely heavily on data to measure and forecast our success, ensure high-quality decisions, and point towards future opportunities.

The Data Analyst team is looking for talented analysts to provide analytical solutions to a variety of Risk challenges and support rigorous decision making with data-driven approaches to business needs.

You will:

  • Use analytical and statistical techniques to solve complex problems and drive business decisions
  • Provide valuable insights through ad-hoc analyses, as well as drive long-terms projects
  • Develop key performance metrics for the business, and be in charge of visualization design and implementation
  • Work cross-functionally with different engineering, product and business teams
  • Influence risk strategy and prioritization through data
  • Communicate key findings to leadership and make recommendations around risk and product strategies
  • Mentor other team members

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in data analytics or a related field
  • Highly skilled at writing SQL to query relational databases
  • Experience with different data and statistical analysis techniques
  • Strong data visualization skills and the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate a complex data landscape and make decisions in a fast-paced environment with minimal documentation and process

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with evaluating predictive model performance and understanding of ML algorithms
  • Experience with a statistical coding language, such as Python or R
  • Experience with setting up or modifying data pipeline jobs (using Spark SQL, Scala, etc)
  • 1+ years of experience in risk, trust & safety, or spam prevention
