  We are looking for a Data Tech Lead to help lead data engineering, enable data driven decisions internally at Zoomo, and support the creation of data-driven features in our customer-facing software products. They will help lead the design and delivery of Zoomo’s ongoing data programs and collaborate closely with their counterparts in business intelligence, analytics, and product development teams.The Data Tech Lead is responsible for their team’s execution, the quality of the team’s work, the speed and cadence at which they produce, but most importantly they are responsible for the impact delivered, while maintaining the team’s culture, environment, and overall growth of the people in it.The Tech Lead role is a balance between hands-on engineering and people management.

Requirements

• Experience with building data lake and data warehouse ETL pipelines build and deploying onto GCP
• Experience building on top of GCP data and analytics services like Dataflow, BigQuery, PubSub, Cloud Functions and other GCP native tools and APIs.
• Advanced SQL skills
• Proficient coding skills in Python
• Experience deploying using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
• Batch and Streaming data experience
• Experience working with visualisation tools such as Tableau, Looker, etc.
• Experience with Data Governance & Metadata Management.

Technical Leadership

• Leading the strategic design, delivery and maintenance of Zoomo’s data pipelines and data infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
• Responsible for ensuring clean and accurate code that is of a high quality and meets or exceeds established standards.
• Working with the team to design and implement solutions that are scalable and reliable
• Coordinating and communicating with stakeholders to ensure awareness of project status and achievement of project outcomes.
• Create necessary technical documentation for reference and reporting.
  

• Lead the Team’s delivery of fit-for-purpose reports, dashboards, data extracts, advanced analytics and other data products consumed by business stakeholders and customers.
• Providing technical expertise and understanding of data pipelines and data warehousing best practice.
• Identify data quality issues and develop solutions to rectify
• Proactively clean data, conduct deep dives into issues and resolve them
• Understand business requirements, design and develop solutions to land and process data from source to warehouse to data marts
• Define and own enhancements to data warehouses and business intelligence capability with focus on integrity, stability, availability, performance and business outcomes.
  

• Line management and personal development of a team of highly skilled data engineers, including recruitment, leave and expense approvals and management
• Meet regularly with your reports, drive each of your people to become the highest performing version of themselves they can be, using a variety of techniques which may include performance feedback, career development, coaching and mentoring.
• As needed, review and manage performance and facilitate any remedial actions with the support of your Manager and P&C.
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
• Ensure the health of your team is monitored, that all members of your team are empowered to raise ideas and concerns, and that everyone contributes to improvements in how the team works together.
