Data Analyst and Assurance Manager

Why this role matters:

Following the acquisition of Vonage by Ericsson, an exciting opportunity has arisen to create the newly formed Vonage Risk Advisory and Assurance (VRA) team. This team was previously heavily Internal Audit focussed but now has a broader scope and responsibility across risk, assurance and compliance activities.

As part of the VRA team you will be the subject matter resource in data analytics supporting the entire team in the identification of vulnerabilities and performing reviews across the Company. You will also create and lead the continuous monitoring of key analytics and trends, ensuring that processes are operated in compliance with internal policy, procedure and regulatory requirements as well as identifying opportunities for continuous business improvement. This is a newly created role which you will have the opportunity to shape and grow by applying your experience and knowledge. 

You will work closely with the Business Intelligence (BI) team as well as stakeholders across the entire business.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Act as the VRA subject matter expert (SME) in data analytics and automated auditing techniques
  • Build and maintain a continuous monitoring dashboard and data models, identifying opportunities for improvement, vulnerabilities or unusual trends, feeding back to VRA team and taking corrective action, as appropriate
  • Identify and develop automated auditing techniques to support delivery of the VRA plan
  • Work collaboratively with the broader VRA team to manage requirements gathering to define and prioritize data and analytics needs to support individual reviews, building new dashboards, analyses and automations as required
  • Define data requirements to deliver analyses for use cases of interest
  • Extract, transform, and load data (as required) to support new requirements
  • Perform end to end reviews utilizing data analytics
  • Determine scope, definition and work plan
  • Conduct meetings with stakeholders
  • Produce high quality reports  summarizing outcomes, findings and recommendations
  • Present findings and recommendations to Management 
  • Monitor implementation of improvement action
  • Lead business value workshops to identify and qualify opportunities for process enhancement, presenting results to the VRA team as well as other stakeholders across the company
  • Collaborate with BI for all VRA related data needs
  • Participate in an advisory capacity to incorporate real-time insights and recommendations into major projects, initiatives, and organizational changes
  • Identify further opportunities to incorporate and leverage data analytics to more effectively and efficiently achieve VRA objectives and deliver greater insights for business improvement
  • Participate in other VRA risk advisory, reviews, special projects or investigations as required
  • Support the the VRA team with internal and external audits as required
  • Build good relationships with internal team members and external auditors sharing insights gained from review across the team as needed

What you’ll bring;

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, analytics, engineering, mathematics or other related field
  • Proven Data Analytics experience
  • Prior work experience in data science and data modelling
  • Experience in analyzing complex data sets, interpreting data, identifying potential solutions, and presenting information back to the business
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Tableau
  • Knowledge of Celonis, or similar, process mining and execution management desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience in business transformation initiatives is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical thinking and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of working with team members at all levels within an organization
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and plan in a time efficient manner, including managing multiple projects at one time
  • Internal audit / compliance assurance experience desirable
  • Technology and/or Telecoms industry experience desirable
