Job Description

Position: Data Science Intern

Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking an intern to join our IT/Data Strategy team. We are actively developing a customer intelligence program focusing on generating deeper customer insights and predictive outcomes related to customer growth and retention. In this role, we are expecting you to focus on one or more key areas of analysis: Product Usage, Customer Engagement, Support, Opportunity Health, Product Utilization or Macro Economic Insight. The goal is to perform a comprehensive review of an area, and perform data preparation, feature engineering, model building and reporting for model performance.

Responsibilities/What you’ll do-

  • Drive business outcomes by developing recommendations based on data.
  • Create analyses that tell a “story” focused on insights, not just data analytics
  • Evaluate various options in terms of appropriate modeling technique/algorithm and apply the one which fits best in the overall business & technical environment
  • Apply models on large datasets to measure results and outcomes
  • Make recommendations to resolve application performance problems
  • Implement data processing methods and tools
  • Support with data analysis and data preparation
  • Study and communicate model performance and tuning needs

Qualifications

Qualifications/Your background-

  • Working your way towards completing your Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python and Data Visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI etc
  • Familiarity with Tensorflow, Pytorch, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Pandas and or Matplotlib a plus
  • Firm grasp of statistical analysis concepts with ability to communicate statistical significance of findings
  • Good Communication Skills and should have can-do attitude
  • Strong Project and Stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead and execute projects from start to finish.

Additional Information

The base salary range for this Intern position is $5500-$6500/month

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, location and relevant education or training.
