Job Description  

ProCogia is looking for a student to develop prompt engineering tools to optimize the use of state-of-the-art chatbot models, such as ChatGPT. These tools will allow the development of apps that let users get the most out of such large models without requiring fine-tuning the models themselves and the large data and computation requirements that go along with these models. 

The co-op candidate will have the following responsibilities and duties: 

• Develop novel natural language processing (NLP) tools (in Python) and use them to query external APIs
• Create and maintain Python packages
• Develop metrics to analyze the query results
• Engage with a team of data scientists, computational scientists, and data engineers
• Communicate project methodology and results with the team

Required:  

• Proficiency in Python
• Familiarity of natural language processing concepts
• Good understanding of machine learning concepts, and associated statistical methods 
• Excellent communication skills in English including presentation skills

Preferred:  

• Experience developing tools, packages, or pipelines in R/Python for NLP workflows
• Familiarity with command line tools and git (please provide GitHub link if available)
• Machine learning experience an asset
• Good data science practices
